Paid per SREC-II for 15 years. The rate cut is set by a May 2026 board order, so registering before July 27 locks the higher rate. New Jersey has no residential battery incentive yet: the Garden State storage program's residential phase has not launched.

The federal tax credits ended
The 25D clean energy credit and 25C home improvement credit ended after December 31, 2025, and the 30C EV charger credit ended for property placed in service after June 30, 2026. Many contractor and comparison sites still advertise a “30% federal credit” that no longer exists. State and utility programs are where the money is now.

No. The One Big Beautiful Bill ended the residential federal clean-energy tax credits: the 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit and the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit ended after Dec 31, 2025, and the 30C EV charger credit ended for property placed in service after June 30, 2026. The IRA Home Energy Rebates are separately funded and still rolling out state by state, so that program remains. Any site still advertising a 30% federal credit is out of date.
