Powerwall 3 Installation
Quick answer
Tesla Powerwall 3 installed by certified electricians, 13.5kWh storage, 11.5kW output, built-in solar inverter. Typically $11,000–$18,000 before state and utility incentives.Typical installed cost: $11,000–$18,000
The Powerwall 3 is Tesla's current flagship: double the power output of the Powerwall 2 and a solar inverter built in, so panels connect directly to the battery. As Tesla-certified installers, we handle system design, the Backup Gateway, permits, utility interconnection, and app commissioning.
About Powerwall 3 Installation
The Powerwall 3 collapsed what used to be three boxes into one: battery, inverter, and solar input in a single wall-mounted unit delivering 11.5kW continuously, enough to start central air conditioning from battery, something its predecessor needed two units to promise.
Our certified installs run the full arc: consumption analysis and system design, Backup Gateway placement, panel integration (with SPAN as an option for circuit-level control), permitting and utility interconnection, and app commissioning with storm watch and time-based controls configured for your rate plan.
What 11.5kW of output means in practice
- Central A/C starts and runs on battery, the old dealbreaker, solved
- Well pumps and sump pumps with their surge draws: handled
- EV charging during an outage (throttled intelligently)
- Whole-home backup from fewer units than PW2 required

Why it matters
- A Tesla-certified install keeps your warranty registered and intact.
- The certification comes from Tesla, not from us, and it is published on their site rather than ours.
- Certified across the range: Wall Connector, Universal Wall Connector, Powerwall, Powerwall 3 and Powershare.

Frequently asked questions
Same 13.5kWh storage, but nearly double the continuous output (11.5kW vs 5.8kW) and an integrated solar inverter, one unit can start A/C and run large loads that previously needed two batteries.
No, it works standalone for backup and time-of-use savings, charging from the grid. Its built-in inverter simply makes adding solar later cleaner and cheaper.
Most single-unit installs complete in one day on site, after design and permitting. Utility interconnection approval adds calendar time, which we manage.
Garage or exterior wall, indoors or out (it's weather-rated). We site it for wire-run efficiency, temperature moderation, and code clearances, usually beside the panel and gateway.
