- Read the error source. Many cars show charging faults on the dashboard or app, while the charger shows its own codes. Compare the two: a car-side message points to the vehicle, a charger code points to the unit.
- Inspect the connector. Check both the charger's connector and the car's charge port for debris, damage, or bent pins.
